This tree is the gift of hope. It is the essence of nature, music, and love. From its branches you can find Jenny swinging with the Watson Twins and Blake heading up the Elected. But when you climb its trunk, this tree is all Rilo Kiley. And like the Giving Tree itself, Rilo Kiley is giving back. This t-shirt is AA and profits go the Elliott Smith Memorial Fund.
About The Band
Jenny Lewis, Blake Sennett, Pierre de Reeder, and Jason Boesel head up the LA-based indie quartet, Rilo Kiley. Most of the band members have been involved with their own solo projects. Jenny collaborated with the Watson Twins on her solo LP, as well as being an integral part of the indie/electronic band "The Postal Service." Blake is the front man for the Elected, and Pierre de Reeder is also developing his own solo project. Their 4th and latest album release, "Under the Black light" is one of our favourite albums of this year.
About The Cause
Raises money for Free Arts for Abused Children, which is a national non-profit organization that integrates the healing and therapeutic power of the arts into the lives of children and youth who have been abused. Elliott's sister Ashley told YBP that one thing her brother always wanted to do was start a charity for abused children, and so after he passed away she started this fund in his memory.
